Position Title: Sales                                                                      Reports to: VP of Sales

Start Date: Spring/Summer                                                                    Location: Austin, TX

  • Accountability to annual sales plan
  • Ownership and communication of recurring updates to plans and forecasts within assigned accounts.
  • Support in measuring department performance against expectations
  • Strategic and collaborative building of annual trade promotion calendar across retail customers.
  • Identifying and executing on opportunities to expand the sales of FON across ALL retail channels, which includes working with broker and distributor networks to maximize sales and distribution opportunities
  • Setting performance expectations and managing internally or through appointed brokers and distributors to achieve quality distribution in targeted accounts, including ensuring timely execution on new item introductions, schematic implementation and promotional programming and that they have all necessary resources required to succeed in the market place (e.g., product samples, sell sheets, promotional calendars. POS, etc)
  • Offers strategic direction, guidance, and support to any brokerage teams that align with FON company annual business goals.
  • Ensuring that all related POS (e.g. coolers, shelf talkers, etc.) are ordered in the right quantities and utilized effectively in the marketplace.
  • Requesting and analyzing distribution reports to determine market coverage and opportunities for future growth
  • Ensuring in store audits are conducted (via broker management and/or field sales reps where possible) to ensure merchandising standards are adhered to and promotional programming is being executed
  • Ownership of Identifying and attending trade shows to represent the brand and develop sales opportunities
  • Identify opportunities to build strong connections with key individuals and form meaningful and impactful relationships that benefit the FON brand (from consumer to buyers and everyone in between).
  • Creating and presenting data based selling stories to drive adoption at retail 
  • Technical capabilities for using suite of systems to support sales planning, customer management, analytics
  • Data driven wit high cognitive ability to collect and analyze data
  • Strategy and Management of multiple selling channels:

Natural Retail 

    • Identifying and selling into key local, regional and national NATURAL retailers
    • Managing buyer level relationships to achieve FoN sales objectives
    • When appropriate, supporting distributor set up and street level sales
    • Hyper focus on Key Natural, NCG, INFRA, and Independents within the distributor networks.
    • Ownership of the business within assigned account base (with support and oversight from VP of Sales)
    • Creation of and maintenance of data based selling stories 
    • Monitor performance data vs expectations and communicate effectively to adjust plans and forecasts accordingly
    • Support of sales (and ownership where assigned) within conventional retail channel 

Food Service 

    • Identifying and selling into key local as well as multi location restaurants
    • Support building a national growth plan for both wholesale and food service business which may include a regional selling force 
    • Identifying, onboarding and training national & regional foodservice distributors
    • Identifying and selling into key local as well as multi location restaurants

Direct Wholesale 

    • Pioneering sales opportunities for B2B sales (raw materials, bones etc.)
    • Identifying and selling into key non-traditional sales outlets
    • Support the development of and execution of innovative selling opportunities (e.g. placing branded freezers in influential accounts, meat shops etc.)

Online Retail Marketplaces 

    • Ownership of identifying and selling into key online retailers

Marketing Focused Support for Sales: 

  • Identify creative opportunities to engage with customers through various sales channels
  • Offer guidance and support in creating and executing upon an annual marketing plan and strategy
  • Manage POS needs and effectively coordinate with marketing team within assigned accounts
