Position Title: Staff Accountant
Reports to: Director of Accounting
Location: Austin, TX and/or Remote
POSITION SCOPE:

The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in making sure we are organized, overseeing the daily operations of core accounting processes that will be critical to team success. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Manage accounting inbox and AP through our 3rd party platform, Bill.com
- Own the purchase-to-pay process – ensuring bills are matched with the purchase orders and approved by the purchasing team
- Set up new suppliers in the system and maintain supplier records
- Reconcile supplier statements and provide supplier communication
- Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, inventory, and general ledger
- Provide cross-functional ad-hoc support to the team from the lens of the accounting function
- Identify and recommend process improvements cross-functionally to increase efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations
- Proactively reach out to business managers and warehouse managers in the collection of month-end inventory count data
- Perform inventory reconciliation and investigate variances with the Operations team
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close process, including AP close, posting of journal entries, preparing reconciliations and schedules
- Support various monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance processes and reporting requirements
- Create and manage reporting across a variety of accounting and finance areas
- Spearhead initiatives geared towards improving DPO including evaluating supplier terms, leveraging credit card payments, and Accounts Payable dashboard
- Support banking and treasury management needs
- Support various payroll and HR processes
- Develop and maintain standard accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP and best practices
EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 4 years in a professional work setting
- Education: 4-year B.S./B.A. degree (preferably in finance or accounting) or equivalent
- CPG experience preferred

- Travel required
- Must be able to read and interpret recipes, numbers on scales, perform basic math and judge color, consistency, placement of materials for quality control
- Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, squat, bend, twist, reach, walk, or lean for the entirety of shift.

PROFICIENCIES:
- QuickBooks Online, Cin7, Shopify, Bill.com, and customer order management solutions
- Strong in Microsoft Excel and Word, Slack
- Process planning, Project Management and Inventory Management
