BAKED BISON & BEEF CORN DOGS
INGREDIENTS:
- Force of Nature Bison and Beef Hotdogs
- 1 cup organic flour
- 1 cup yellow cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 6 tablespoons pasture raised butter
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup raw honey
- wooden skewers or sticks
PREPARATION:
-
Preheat your oven to 400°F.
-
Add the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, and salt into a large bowl and mix together.
-
Cut the butter into small pieces and add to the bowl. Use a fork to press and combine it into the dry ingredients until you get a course crumb texture.
-
Pour in the milk and honey, and mix in well.
-
Lightly dust a large piece of piece of parchment paper and place your dough on it. Dust the dough with some additional flour. Place another piece of parchment over the dough and roll out until the dough is ~1/4 inch thick
-
Take each hot dog and insert a wooden stick through them longwise. Lay the hot dog on the rolled-out dough, then cut out a rectangle of dough that is large enough to wrap around the hot dog.
-
Carefully wrap the dough around each hot dog. With your hands, rub the dough around the hotdog and seal all the edges.
-
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the corn dogs on the sheet so none are touching. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the outside begins to brown.
-
Remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
-
Serve with mustard and ketchup on the side. Enjoy!
