SMOKED, BRAISED BISON SHORT RIBS

SMOKED, BRAISED BISON SHORT RIBS

INGREDIENTS:

  • Force of Nature Bison Short Rib 
  • 3 tbsp Dijon Mustard 
  • 1 tbsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Garlic powder 
  • 1 tbsp Onion powder 
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup red wine  
  • 1 yellow onion
  • 1 sprig rosemary 
  • 1 sprig thyme 
  • 3 bay leaves 
  • 2 cloves garlic 

PREPARATION:

  1. Remove the Bison short rib from the Force of Nature packaging
  2. Pat short rib dry with a paper towel
  3. Rub the mustard over the entire surface of the short rib (this will create a nice crust on the meat)
  4. Season the short rib with Salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. 
  5. Smoke the short rib at 250 degrees 1 hour and 30 minutes 
  6. Remove the short rib from the smoker and place on a clean plate
  7. Bring beef broth and red wine to a boil uncovered to a dutch oven to flash off alcohol 
  8. Reduce to medium - low heat and add in yellow onion, rosemary, thyme, bay leaves, garlic cloves, short rib and cover. 
  9. Let the mixture simmer on medium heat for 4 hours. 
  10. Salt and pepper to taste. 
  11. Remove from Dutch oven and enjoy!
