FOR THE BBQ SAUCE:
2 tablespoons butter or ghee • 24 ounces strained tomatoes • 7 ounces tomato paste • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar • 1/3 cup blackstrap molasses • 1/3 cup coconut aminos • 1 tablespoon garlic powder • 1 tablespoon onion powder • 1 tablespoon chili powder • 1 teaspoon salt • 1 teaspoon pepper • Optional: add honey to taste if you prefer a sweeter sauce
Melt the butter or ghee in a sauce pan. Add all the BBQ ingredients and whisk them together. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes - stirring on occasion. Remove from heat and allow to cool before serving or storing in the fridge for later use.
FOR THE BURGERS:
1 - 2 Packages of Force of Nature ground Venison • 1 tablespoon of oil (butter or ghee) • salt and pepper • 2 - 4 slices of gouda cheese • burger buns (or butter lettuce) • 1 avocado (sliced) • 1 tomato (sliced) • mixed greens lettuce
Heat a little oil (butter or ghee) to the skillet on medium high. Season the patties on both sides with salt and pepper. Add the seasoned patties to the skillet and cook until caramelized on one side. Flip the patties and cook for 1 more minute, then reduce heat and add a slice of cheese on top of each. Allow the cheese to melt and the patties to reach desired cook before removing from the skillet. Assemble your burger with tomato, avocado, lettuce and the homemade bbq. Enjoy!
