POSITION SCOPE: 

Foodservice Sales Manager role will work cross functionally in the development and execution of Foodservice and Field Sales strategies and be a key contributor to growth in both channels.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

FOOD SERVICE–

  • Accountability to FoN annual sales plan
  • Build a growth plan for food service in partnership with VP of Sales & National Sales Director
  • Own foodservice channel for Force of Nature. Take over existing book of business and actively start to manage accounts both directly and through distributors
  • Identify and execute on opportunities to expand the sales of FON through new and existing distribution channels in Foodservice
  • Create qualified target lists both locally and nationally and work with Manager on plans to execute and win new business
  • Communication of recurring updates to plans and forecasts within foodservice channel
  • Support in measuring foodservice performance against expectations
  • Set performance expectations and manage internally and through distributors with a focus on achieving quality distribution in targeted accounts where we have high confidence in winning
  • Offer strategic direction, guidance, and support to any distributor or broker teams that align with FON company business goals in the foodservice channel
  • Conduct foodservice blitzes working with current distribution partners to grow our business from the bottom up
  • Own management, planning and execution of trade shows in the foodservice channel to represent the brand and develop sales opportunities
  • Identify opportunities to build strong connections with key individuals and form meaningful and impactful relationships that benefit the FON brand (from consumer to buyers and everyone in between).
  • Create and present exciting foodservice menu ideas that align with FoN utilization goals and provide value to and excite potential buyers
  • Prioritize opportunities for partnership with organizations that align with FoN core values and maximize carcass optimization needs of the business
  • Work cross functionally with all teams on new product launches and innovation in foodservice channel to ensure timely roll outs and top-tier cross-departmental collaboration

GROCERY RETAIL–

  • Support retail team as needed via sales blitzes, field support & trade shows
  • Build and execute strategic market blitz plans to support sales in regions & retailers that are critical to sales department goals and objectives (1-2 market blitzes per month).
  • Deliver follow up from field sales blitzes in timely and accurate manner effectively delivering positive return on the investment of time and company resources in the field
  • Work with National Sales Director, Regional Sales Managers and Field Sales Managers to help map out quarterly field sales plans, goals, and timelines
  • Work with Director of Fresh on strategic opportunities to support new and existing fresh programs
  • Leverage existing retail distribution partnerships that also offer prepared foods; sell in foodservice opportunities at retail to expand partnerships

DIRECT WHOLESALE/INGREDIENT–

  • Seek out sales opportunities for B2B sales (raw materials, bones etc.) that effectively contribute to carcass optimization and prioritize needs of the business
  • Identify and sell into key non-traditional sales outlets
  • Develop and execute innovative selling opportunities

MARKETING FOCUSED SUPPORT FOR SALES–

  • Identify creative opportunities to connect FoN marketing to foodservice opportunities
  • Offer guidance and support in creating and executing upon an annual marketing plan and strategy in foodservice
  • Manage POS/Swag needs and effectively coordinate with marketing team within assigned accounts

  • 3+ years experience in Foodservice sales
  • Technical skills in Excel, Google Suite, Dropbox, Slack, etc

  • Professional humility – not afraid to do whatever it takes and lift up the team and pitch in across the business
  • Travel required up to 50% of time
  • Strong planning and organizational skills along with excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to summarize and communicate complex issues or situations to senior stakeholders and customers
  • A self-starter with an active passion for positive change including processes, skills & technology
  • Seeks to constantly expand and improve on skills and knowledge base
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in a hands-on, fast paced entrepreneurial environment
