Classically trained and ACF-certified executive chef Matt Schweitzer has been making waves across the culinary industry for some time now. Early in his career, Matt owned and operated restaurants in Washington, California, and Arizona. Before that, he cooked with and alongside some of the best chefs in the world in Napa, Las Vegas, Aspen, and New York City. His gastronomical tour also took him to Spain, Italy, and France which ultimately lead him back stateside where he joined Hopdoddy. Helping them grow from 15 to 50 locations across 8 states, Matt oversees all menu innovation and product development along with supply chain management and bar offerings. Privileged to be charged with the constantly evolving environment inside the burger space, Matt has blended technically advanced skills with commercialized production giving Hopdoddy a refreshed position in the fast-casual dining class.
The team at Hopdoddy leverages Matt’s creativity and intuition for special product launches, marketing initiatives, and product development along with menu and design. Matt’s ability to spot trends and stay ahead has been integral in the progression of Hopdoddy’s Food and Beverage program. Additionally, Matt has mentored and developed many young chefs and has shown the ability to build and grow teams within the organization which has been foundational in Hopdoddy’s growth. Matt’s passion for food is second only to being part of a world-class team, a key ingredient as Hopdoddy continues to grow.
