Now Hiring: Senior Accountant
Force of Nature
About the Role
Force of Nature is a category-disrupting brand that has quickly become the fastest growing brand in meat. Founded to accelerate the creation of a global regenerative supply network, we are revolutionizing the industry to not just improve but to create positive returns for land, for animal welfare, for communities, and for consumers. We're a growing meat CPG company entering our next phase of scale and operational maturity. We're looking for a Senior Accountant with strong costing experience to help build, lead, and strengthen our accounting foundation.
This is a highly hands-on role where you will own and evolve our costing function while also providing support within the accounting function. You'll play a key role in improving cost visibility, inventory accuracy, and margin insights in a complex environment that includes perishability, yield variability, and co-manufacturing.
We currently operate in an average costing environment and are looking to evolve toward a more robust standard costing framework. This role will be instrumental in helping design, implement, and govern that transition while guiding cross-functional alignment and team execution.
If you enjoy building processes, developing people, working cross-functionally, and turning operational data into financial insight, this role offers high impact and visibility. For the right person, this dynamic and fast-paced environment checks all the boxes of supporting a mission-based company with an opportunity to develop professionally.
What You'll Do
Costing & Inventory
- Own and enhance cost accounting processes, currently average costing (will include transition to standard costing).
- Partner with operations, procurement, and co-manufacturers to improve BOM integrity, routing assumptions, and cost drivers.
- Support accurate inventory valuation, including raw materials, WIP, and finished goods in a perishable environment.
- Strengthen controls around inventory movements, cycle counts, and waste tracking.
- Support COGS forecasting and budgeting, including commodity-driven cost fluctuations.
- Provide leadership and oversight of costing processes, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and scalability across the organization.
- Review and validate reporting outputs, ensuring high-quality insights are delivered to leadership.
- Drive cross-functional accountability with operations and supply chain partners related to cost drivers and inventory accuracy.
- Analyze yield, shrink, and spoilage, translating findings into actionable insights.
General Accounting & Close (Supporting)
- Support key components of the month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Assist with balance sheet reconciliations, particularly inventory and related accounts.
- Help build and maintain scalable accounting processes and internal controls.
- Support financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist with external audits and provide required documentation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
- Support ERP enhancements or system improvements, particularly related to costing and inventory.
- Oversee elements of the close process to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to internal deadlines.
- Review reconciliations and journal entries prepared by others, as applicable, to maintain strong internal controls.

- 5–7 years of accounting experience with a strong CPG background and costing experience.
- Experience with standard costing systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience implementing or significantly improving costing methodologies (including standard costing).

- Ability to operate effectively in a company transitioning from less structured to more scalable processes.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, build-as-you-go environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to connect financial results to operational drivers.
- Experience with ERP systems (Cin7, QBO preferred).
- Advanced Excel skills.
